Timelessness and the elusive sea eagle

How different would our lives look if we loosened our grip on time? Yes we need time and clocks for the practical purposes of day to day living but… I just wonder…once those practical things are accomplished.. if there just might be other moments of our lives when we could let go of the need to grasp so tightly the need to ‘fill up’ and ‘plan’ every minute of every day.

Would that not allow for more moments of ‘Presence’? …To be at one with the essence of all things, whether you recognise that essence as ‘God’ or ‘the Universe’ or ‘Spirit’. As I let go of trying to label this undeniable force in my life, an interesting thing is happening, there is greater timelessness and peace. There is in fact a greater connectedness to this spiritual realm.

Is this meditation or perhaps mindfulness?

But I’m not seeking a state where I’m using my mind, it’s more of an emptying of my mind, a mindlessness, a letting go of trying to work things out, a dissolving of past and future concerns.

This morning, I had the most amazing experience… where time stood completely still …. all that I was aware of was my breath…and….connectedness to Spirit.

There is an elusive sea eagle who flies over our balcony and trees most days…majestic and effortless…it is awe-inspiring. I’ve tried to capture him/her many times on my phone’s camera but I’m never quick enough.

This morning I noticed it perched in one of the trees on our property and as I watched it from our balcony…I let everything else fade away…actually it felt like un-focusing…until all that was there… was the eagle and I…and then it happened….all I heard was my slow breathing, like when you’re floating in water and your head is submerged so all you can hear is your breath….time stood still and the other trees in my vision blurred into what I can only describe as a tunnel of palest sage green…I was completely present in that moment with the eagle and I felt the presence of Spirit, deep peace, deep connection and deep joy….timelessness

And it occurred to me once again, this deeper realm of timelessness is available to us at every moment of everyday… if we are only still enough, there is deep peace waiting for us….a true gift

After this special experience…I managed to get a bit closer to the elusive eagle only to discover it was not alone….you can see (from the photo I managed to take before it flew away) the shape of it’s partner on a branch further up to it’s right.

For those like me, who believe that animal sightings and experiences are not just coincidental … this is a VERY interesting read
