Sancha’s distinctive painting style while impressionistic also exudes design like qualities. Her floral paintings portray the glorious forms and colours found in the natural world. Not limited to just this one subject matter, she is equally enamored with painting landscapes, still life and portraits. Her recent work has seen an abundance of colourful acrylic and mixed media on watercolour paper. Beginning with a wild wash of acrylic, she builds up layers of colour and texture, often adding delicate pastel markings towards the finishing of the work.

Sancha will admit that being a creative at heart, she gets bored easily and loves to challenge herself. She likes to experiment with different media and has some exciting new work in the pipeline.

Sancha works from her studio in Sydney’s Inner West often working from plein air sketches, ALWAYS surrounded by music.

Her subject matter reflects her daily life often depicting a vase of flowers, musicians at play, luscious beach scenes, tranquil vistas of the Hawkesbury River area & scenes around Sydney.

Art has always been an integral part of Sancha’s life and she was brought up by a family who deeply valued the arts. Her great aunt and uncle were cherished Australian watercolorists Ruth Tuck & Mervyn Smith.

Mostly self taught, she has also attended classes and workshops with some of Australia finest artists. She paints in oil, acrylic, watercolours and mixed media.
