Seachange and Sunsets

Since moving to the Coast we have experienced so many beautiful sunsets. From our new home, we have a direct view of the setting sun, the dimming of the day. This particular sunset came after a rather dramatic afternoon summer storm. The sun was glowing red through the pastel clouds and reminded me of gelato. As I was painting, I felt that this sunset was a gift and metaphor…that there can be healing and beauty after the storms we experience in life. A reminder that rings true after the chaos of 2020.

This is first mini original artwork offering. The mini originals are often the way I get into my creative practise. They started as daily ‘warm up’ exercises but then I realized instead of simple ‘letting go’ exercises they often turned into finished artworks, some of which I end up framing and selling. This year I wanted to offer these to my followers at a special price as a way of owning an original painting~ a ‘one off’ that will be your own special piece.
