Living Lighter - Mixed Media on Canvas Paper

As I mentioned in my post last week, I’ve set an intention this year to ‘live lighter’.

I’m already feeling the benefits of letting go and surrendering to the stirrings within my soul ( as I let go of trying to control outcomes or playing things safe ) ….I’m finding that in letting go of rigid ways of thinking and staying open to what I intrinsically know and feel is true in my heart and soul, that I am actually receiving so much more in return, including a beautiful sense of oneness with spirit which brings peace and flow.

What does this look like in everyday life? It’s consciously operating from a place of awareness, saying yes and following through on the spirit prompts when they turn up, making a phone call, sending an encouraging text, speaking truth into someone’s soul and this also includes stepping out of my comfort zone. Seeking out new teachers and kindred spirits who can help develop my intuitive skills (thank you dear Michele..who incidentally features in an earlier blog post and my new friends at Heart Space Manor) open my heart to new possibilities, stretch my thinking and help to bring awareness of energy blocks. Collaborating with new friends on their passion projects (so excited about an event coming up in March (more on this to come soon).. opening up to new ways of using my skill set and leaving behind preconceived ways of connecting and teaching, letting go of labels…and this is HUGE !!

It’s acknowledging that there is a unique way that I can bring healing and hope with the skills and gifts that I have and that it’s all coming from actually ‘being myself’. But it is going to take courage.

In short, ‘living lighter’ is living more authentically and with a greater sense of aliveness. This new journey feels so right and it’s like all the threads of my life are finally coming together.

The artwork above was the image that came to me as the intention “live lighter” landed in my soul. It was created very intuitively using a collage of my batik watercolour designs on rice paper for the background and printed papers for the sleeves, the batik watercolour feather I made last week embellished with real white feathers and acrylic paint for the beautiful hands of Sienna Rose, who was my hand model.

I hope that it speaks to you and encourages you to live lighter and more authentically too.
